freelance chef? I take that to mean unemployed chef, no? I think sushi in Bflo is very lacking, esp living so close to Toronto. so what are Altman's credentials? Otherwise it sounds like a unique event.

    Very Cool.

I'm too impatient to wait! Anyone want to converge on Kuni's tonight?!?!

    simcoe,

I appreciate your concern and have therefore clarified Chef Avi's current employment status in the body of the story. Although the terms 'freelance' and 'consultant' do often equal the term 'unemployed', I assure you that that is not the case here.

What a great contest, the prize sounds delicious. This is a hard one though, because I want to name the individual ingredients for some of them. I just ate at Seabar this weekend, but had the "beef on weck" roll, so that certainly doesn't help with these pictures...by the way, Seabar was great and my husband's sushi (which did contain fish) was extremely fresh and wonderful.

Simcoe, maybe an enterprising restauranteur in Toronto could build a sushi carousel that reaches Buffalo to supply all you poor deprived souls.
