this place is beautiful. The work done by john and nadine inside is amazing.. hard to belive its the old vinnys. The artwork is also something to see(not sure who did that). The food is excellent, and they have great daily specials. This sign that was added out front is the perfect addition to a perfect place. The patio was also a great addition. Keep up the good work guys.

marquees have an ability to add a charm to downtown. i would love to see a couple more in the theatre district where appropriate. the shea's one has done wonders visually for the surroundings.

Added detail, light and a bit of 'spiffiness' can go a long way. Nice job glad to see the investment happening. Helps to reinforce that people are making money downtown

Brillient! Perfect fit for downtown and the theatre district, adds a sense of vibrancy. Glad they did not opt for a mural.

get rid of the red paint on the brick....it makes the building architecturally un-interesting and ugly...just have it blasted and then paint with a clear coat water sealant.

also, I pity whoever has to live in that room with the lights from that sign blaring in all evening.

but as I said...the theater district is going to move into and take over the Chippewa District....as the Chippewa vomit district gradually relocates to the area surrounding the Buffalo Creek Casino.

Chris, you suck. Please give us some examples of the buildings you have restored with your money so we may comment on your work.

I luv these type of signs, keep 'em coming. As a a fan of local history, it's amazing to look at the old downtown photos of a time gone bye compared to today and see so little signage and billboards around this part of town. I hope this does start a trend. We should also get the city involved in getting moving, and large Ads in and around certain buildings and empty spaces to brighten up downtown just like they used to. Think about it, your brining new images, filling in empty spaces while still brining in money to the city and building owners.

Is this a flourescent sign? If it's not neon, it's a bunch of malarkey. I hope it isn't flourescent.

Anyone know what happened to the Market Arcade Cinema marquee. I'd love to see an HD screen there showing movie previews and advertising. That with a new marquee for the tralf would really light up the theater district

I LOVE signs like these, absolutely LOVE them! We really need to get more of these downtown, especially ones that really light up at night and catch your attention! It really makes it very urbanistic and gives the area more life as it reminds us of the old and new. My hope is that we get a ton of these signs and make all of our streets and buildings downtown beautiful and soaring with lights and signs like these. It really makes downtown full of life , and is seen with amazement and wonder of those who come here that are out of town. If we had more of these, all different in size, shape, color, etc, downtown Buffalo would surely get more buisnesses and become more of a place for shopping and a place welcoming and intriguing to retail buisiness and restaurants, all because of these wonderful iconic signs!

    gaustad,

Cabaret is packed with the pre and post theatre crowd on a regular basis. I also know that it is busy at lunch and a lot of the neighborhood's restaurant industry folks grab their pre-shift meal "to go" from Cabaret. To the best of my knowledge, they're doing a swift business. Your question may have been rhetorical, but I'm happy to answer it for anyone else that may be curious.
