Richard Price runs a wonderful workshop and really takes the time and energy to explain how to tend to your seedlings. While I was there I planted some heirloom tomato seeds, of which Urban Roots has several varieties.

There's a great story about that Member-Owner sign, Newell. It's part of a Newport Cigarette sign from the departed Queen Sheba corner store...
We are up to 329, and at least two more people yesterday said they would be sending in checks...
I really wanted to go to this but I guess it was best I didn't show up to a packed house. I am glad it did so well and hopefully they will have more in the future.
I too was part of the congestion... I didn't know that there was a call-ahead reservation since I got my info from the BRO article. I did join that day though so I'll tell myself that helps balance it out ;-). I believe I as 329... just don't have my card on me.
I loved the workshop. You could tell Richard had been doing this for a while and he genuinely wanted to help others learn and start their own. Everybody I talked to was really nice and friendly too... It helps make shy people like me feel more at home.
That was the first time I've ever seen Harvey too. Geeze, you're a lot younger looking than I expected for seeing your name involved in so many things and hearing about all the work you're always doing.
I have been a friend of Dick for many years and his knowledge of plants reaches well beyond simple gardening. He brings a naturalists perspective and with his gentle nature is a true "teacher". We need more people like Dick to share their experience and enthusiasm.
