"We should vote on the "best" Buffalo graphic artist and send the others packing to Cheektowaga."
As a graphic designer who doesn't happen to be the best, I oppose this plan.

The best graphic artists in Cheektowaga have already banded together in opposition to this proposal and I hear they have raised over $20,000 for their legal war chest. Their protest song, "Don't air-brush us aside" is already in heavy rotation at Cheektowaga's 97.5 FM WCTW. Don't mess with these folks, send the hopeless losers to Sloan.
Michael's work has evolved into a whole lot more than "standing buffalo". Perhaps a visit to his place is in order so that you can see that rather than make assumptions based on...I'm not sure what.
That was a cheap shot! Morgulis is a HUGE asset to Buffalo. I love his work. He is always trying new things. I especailly love his new photos of the Botanical Gardens.
I dunno, I'm all for an artist moving up in the works, but I'm growing tired of his one buffalo that he stamps on paper with primary colors and the local lovers cry "innovative!" Its not and from the looks the the Buffalo Homecoming logo, where he spent 15 minutes to copy and paste an old design with poorly styled type in a Giant Sabres-esque circle, he's running out of new and creative ideas. Here's to hoping he'll spend more of his time on Hertal, where all the Elmwood patriarchs belong to give way for a few more new and truly innovative entreprenuers
You'll find a real graphic artist on Allen Street over at Hero Design. Mark continually challenges himself to shake up his designs and he is always fresh, innovative, and cutting edge. 90% of what Michael sells features a standing Buffalo in one way or another, it's repetitive and people in the EV have sainted him. Hell, one of his standing buffalo prints was the inspiration for the name of this site. The EV set loves it, I don't. Big f'n deal.
The criticism of Michael Morgulis is baffling. If people didn't want to buy items with his trademark Buffalo design he would stop producing them. Anyone who has followed the art he makes knows there are plenty of items with no Buffalo in sight. Though Morgulis has gone beyond his Buffalo design his customers keep wanting to purchase them.
Artists are damned if they don't move ahead and damned if they do. Concert audiences shout at musicians to play the fan's favorite older tunes while many musicians would rather show off their new music. Usually a musician will play some of each to satisfy the audience and satisfy their own desire to play something new.
Please don't start criticizing Quaker Bonnett Bakery for continuing to make their signature Buffalo Chips!
I for one look forward to a new store in which Michael can recycle his tired cliche pictures of standing Buffalo.
I used to buy my Buffalo gifts at New Buffalo Graphics when it was on Elmwood. Ani DiFranco was the girl working the cash register! If it aint broke, don't fix it. Michael's as an artist is synonymous with Buffalo. Can't wait to see his new diggs.
Yeah, there is only room for one of any given anything in Buffalo. We should vote on the "best" Buffalo graphic artist and send the others packing to Cheektowaga.
Dude, what's with Ansel Adams - all his stuff is of landscapes and mountains and junk. He should use color too, black and white is boring.
