City Grill has always been one of my favorite dining establishments. I agree - great lunches. I also love the fact that it's in the heart of downtown. That bartender John has a memory like a steel trap. A few years ago I walked in there and he remember what beer I drank... the funny thing was that I I hadn't been in the restaurant in over a year.
Can't do much better for lunch, or dinner for that matter than City Grill. Great food from scratch, one of the best wine lists in town and on the ball staff.
My fav lunch spot to take clients when I am downtown.
Service is excellent.
Gumbo Ya Ya is to die for.

A few years ago, Ultimate Restaurant Group hosted a progressive dinner. For a set price, which was reasonable, you ate in all three of the downtown restaurants.
The evening started with wine and appetizers at Bacchus,Lamb Lollipops and other goodies. From there you were taken by taxi, at the restaurants expense, to City Grill, where you had a first course of Soft Shell Crab followed by a Veal Tenderloin entree, and wine of course. After dinner, you took the Metro Rail to Ya Ya Brewhouse, for dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks.
It was a great evening of food and drink, and meeting new people. Everyone was upbeat and engaged in the festive atmosphere.
I could just feature you being there!
