After having samples pathetic versions of a sidecar and thier insulting flavouless manhattan I feel that the sample bartenders should be taking a course or two....maybe outside of the world of beverages

I myself found their Smoked Cherry Manhattan to be utterly delicious.

Okay, anyone that can purchase whatever crappy flavoured whiskey that happens to be trendy that month might make a manhattan worthy of sarah jessica parker and the girls of the city...But when a man or sophisticate woman wants a true drink in the proper old fashioned way me thinks that there may be better saloons to wet the whistle..

I enjoy reading these comments about the bartenders and concepts that sample have to offer. Just to voice my opinion, I am a regular customer there and just sitting at the bar and watching them make drinks, unless the prescription on your glasses are bad you can see that everything they mix into the drinks is made in the kitchen (which is behind the bar…again not sure if your glasses are bad). All of the ingredients are either boiled down, or puréed. There is nothing artificial mixed in. Additionally, the bartenders are good guys, and they are over the age of 5 so if you have an opinion, or idea, maybe you should let them know, rather than posting your gripes on the internet. As for flavored whisky, what would a sophisticated person, such as yourself be drinking that for? I guess maybe I’m not old-fashioned enough for you but I think the concept, and mixology going on at Sample is great for Allentown. And if you want to drink your Rob Roy’s made by a 70 year old man, try one of the local Country Clubs.
