Mark Hutchison (Hutch's, Tempo) told me Spar's has the best bacon. Been going there ever since. The turkey and ham and liversausage are really, really good. Everything is. Great stuff.

the bockwurst loaf, sliced thin on rye bread with onion and hot mustard is about as good as it gets. weiswurst is also top notch. it always amazes me that a city that has more people of german decent than any other ethnicity, doesn't have more German restauarants. Scharfs is ok but nothing competes with the BlackForest Inn up in Hamilton. Go there early and treat yourself to Denigers euro food mart across the street. Makes crossing the bridge almost worth it.

Michael from Bistro Europa shops at Spar's. Everything is fresh and wonderful and moves fast. Try their bratwurst with beer and their store made hot dogs. The food is great and so are the people working in the store.
One of my favorite places as well! All of their products are such high quality, you can't go wrong. One of our favorites is the Augsburger Brats....more of a thin breakfast sausage....we've even taken those & the bacon to Allegany State Park on our camping week-ends. Nothing like Spar's sausage & farm fresh eggs in the great outdoors!
Spar's is the absolute shiz. Unfortunately, I live in Vegas so I miss out 'cept for maybe 2 times a year. I can taste the weisswurst now! Perfect, creamy texture. Their landjager is the best portable snack ever. If they would let me, I would love to do a stage(it's french!) there...........what do you say, Mr. Kennedy? Please?!
