I recently went on the Pan-Am walking tour from the BECHS Nottingham location and I have to admit I was a tiny bit disappointed. We were a small group of five and the guide seemed impatient and not willing to answer questions. An elderly woman was in our group and he would barely wait for her which seemed disrespectful. I had just finished reading "City of Lights" and was looking forward to the tour, too.

Maybe that tour guide was inexperienced or having an off day. The walking tour offerings in Buffalo are head and shoulders above what any other city in upstate NY offers in terms of variety, quantity, and professionalism.

Gotta chuckle at the image of historians going to the Buffalo police in 1901 and asking nicely for THE gun.

I highly recommend this to every Buffalonian and visitor.

I dont think anyone can walk away and not wish that the curators of the Pan Am exhibit would create a fund to rebuild some of these incredible structures in various parts of our city. I can imagine someone wonderful like the electric tower in LaSalle Park or one of its many bandshells and fountains gracing our traffic rotaries

Im all for Buffalo moving forward but there is no reason we cant bring some of our ancestors great works with us.
