what a dumb comment above. why post something like that? this is a gift to buffalo and will help establish it as a cit of the arts. not a city of dumb blog commentary.
isola, please spare me your pretension.
i am all for almost any sort of artistic expression. but i had no idea that surrendering one's sense of humor was a prerequisite to creating what you call a "cit of the arts [sic]". perhaps your tights are a size too small, and the pressure inevitably fossilized any humor and levity you may have previously possessed.
in summation: give me a freaken' break!
sorry, just happened to notice that there are certain people on these boards who are the first to post an inane comment that has no bearing on the actual point of the article. i try to send out of towners to this site to see what's going on culturally and economically here. every time someone from a place like LA, NYC, London, etc. looks at an inane comment it devalues the article. why post it when it's just as easy and more productive to make a relevent critique? i mean, can anyone gain any insight from that first comment? buffalo is an amazing little town for dance. but that gets lost in the 'tights' discussion. totally pointless.
yeah, al-alo, lately all you have been posting are jokes. Not very relevant.
And al-alo is the same person who chastized me for joking about burning down kfc. In summation, a-alo, give us all a break.
Geeze chill people! I thought people could post here what they like? Apparently not.
These little girls are going to be so excited when their wonderful dance school tells them that their pictures are online. This was a great post about a wonderful school, made by a talented writer. Look at what it's turned into. Let's hope the subjects' parents can print it out without the comments and let them enjoy it.
first off, BuffaloCook, you were advocating a felony against human life and private property. for that sir (or madam), you are a first class ass. and right after a chimney falls on a firefighter. now that is CLASS! give me a freggin break.
yawn. ok then. great. no jokes. or perhaps a quota on how many humorous (or semi-humorous, i know they aint all gems) line that can be posted within a week. ive got it: a thought review board to approve all comments based on tone, education level, or how close the writer strays from the accepted party line.
of course, if we just complete the language shift to a buffalo dialect of newspeak, we all wouldnt have to worry. hmm, where is my dictionary and white out? aaa, forget the white out, ill just tear out the pages.
so what if i make a lot of jokes, surprise: thats what i do in person as well? what else is there to do here? listen to Chris69 bookend some good ideas with a couple of racist remarks? then a 97 post give and take. . . blah, blah, balh. . .maybe some pro elmwood snobbery where they disparage other parts of town. i guess fighting everybody in the far flung 'burbs isnt good enough. they want to alienate the folks on hertel as well. if its a good day, we can read nonono taking an author to task about some obscure point of punctuation.
but my absolute favorite is the militant preservationists and the militant pro growth (so called) thought nazis fighting over the building/lot/canal/road de jour.
dont you all find it all a little monotonous? i know i do.
should i just become a BR nihilist? actually, that could only be even duller. should i just quit posting? hmm. ive got it, ill just be contrarian! no matter how indefensible the point of view, no matter how unpalatable the alternative, i will be advocating it. now there's a challenge!
ok here i go to start: doesnt high brow culture like this only benefit a select few of elitists while siphoning money out of public and private coffers at the expense of more necessary local priorities like infrastructure, housing, education and nutrition?

id also like to point out, up to this point i had not ever made a hurtful or personally disparaging joke. all was made in good fun, and much was self disparaging.
al-alo, I enjoy your jokes. and I enjoy BR, I think that by keeping the commentary light and humorous, people can have a good chuckle over their morning coffee. when you made the tights reference - i pictured myself squeezing into a pair of pink stockings and joining my 8 year old daughter at her dance class, just to spend some quality time.
I think that these girls in the picture will remember this post forever and it most likely made their week. This post was wonderful, just wish i still fit into the age requirements... and was a girl...
ok ok, ive calmed down from my coffee infused sleep deprived high horse.
i was a little more than over the top with that last one. and of course i dont really believe that anti cultural stuff. and all i really needed was a hug and five minutes in my tights. . .ahh thats better.
so there!
