I love the locally grown cherries this time of year! Thanks so much for some fresh ideas, I can't wait to try them. You should write a cookbook, your recipes and stories always make for an interesting and delicious time in the kitchen.

But cherry pie is hardly cliche! I picked up sour cherries at the market on Saturday, too. Borrowed a fabulous cherry pitter from friends and made the best pie ever. Here's a link for the recipe: www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/238923

It has good directions for beginners. I since purchased my own cherry pitter at Premier.

The sour cherry season is short - so enjoy it now!

Epicurious is my favorite website ever. Thanks for the link, niagaraview! I've been meaning to try this one for Sour Cherry Streusel Pie for ages: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/232396

I'll probably give it a spin this weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out!
