Frankie, ever been to Prespa, Laughlins, sidebar or shadow just to name a few off the top of my head? Very nice places, far from the drab never changing place you seem to envision this city as.. Sorry if they don't kick people out for wearing jeans or a Sabres shirts or jeans like those more trendy places in other cities. I am ok not being THE trendy place, because that immediately draws lines in the sand and creates "undesirables" and well that's NOT the buffalo I know.

Prespa is bad IKEA, Laughlins is black paint and brick (wow), Sidebar blah, Shadow, cheektowaga-ish... Empire Grill and Toro are two good designs... Sample place looks genuinely cool...

Now go back to Brick Bar across the street lol

We'll have an update sometime today or over the weekend. The menus were arriving today (hopefully), and last night the owners were busy attending to a packed crowd (pre-party). I'm expecting an email that will also include their new phone number.

guys check this place out. everyone likes a cocktail pary and that is the feel you get in there. all the staff is wonderful, and getting grounded into the style the owners want to portray. the food will be ever evolving, and whats on the menu already has many talking around town. this will be a "place to be once the word gets around"

I think the city if finally seeing the emergence of a new, trendy neighborhood. I live around the corner, in Arlington Park, and can attest that Allentown still has the usual suspects, often a product of Friends of the Night People...however great things are happening.

Days Park has made a nice comeback, with houses being remodeled...several new restaurants/stores, including Allen Street Hardware, the new wine bar next door, La Tee Dah, Steel Crazy, Sweet Tooth, and several more commercial establishments either around the corner on Elmwood or on the way. Several restoration projects can be found along College, Mariner, Arlington Park, and even North Street between Elmwood and Symphony Circle.

If only someone could buy the apartment buildings on Allen/lower Mariner and convert them to condos or luxury apartments - I think the neighborhood would explode. I also would recommend putting a really nice grocery store, like Dash's, in the plaza Latina presently occupies. Latina's, at that location, is just bad...empty shelves, poor service, etc...

Its too bad Buffalo isnt a trendy city, a place like this would flourish in NYC or any other progressive city. Buffalo is Beer, sangwiches, Fish fries, etc. The closest thing to an upscale bar is Hardware which is a very average bar in any other city. Best of luck this place looks very very cool!!!
