"Genny Pounders" was the beer of choice for this 30-something back in the day. But then Coors Light came along and stole the show. Now I've really moved to the edge and am on to Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada, and Stella Artois. Pathetic!

Screamers. Green Death. Pounders. Rochester Roto-Rooter. Tonawanda Toot Jouce. Amherster Repellent.
You can buy it here in Cleveland -- not in 16 ounce bottles, sadly -- and popping open a can instantly takes me back to my high school days, getting buzzed in a suburban backyard at a family gathering. Now Labatt Blue seems like the default family get-together cheap beer. On more than one occasion through the years, I saw cases of Screamers emerge from the luggage carousels at distant airports, obviously the booty of an ex-Buffalonian in the Diaspora.
In the past, I wondered why some brewery doesn't market a "reproduction" of Iroqouis, Simon Pure, Beck's, or any of the other beers your grandparentsfondly remember. Just recently, High Falls started brewing Naragansett once again for Rhode Islanders, so it's possible.
According to many of the old farts I've talked with, the laxative powers of Simon Pure put Genny Cream to shame.

An old timer down at Founding Father's said something pretty similar to me once... but you know, the laxative powers of every beer become apparent after 9-10 of 'em, I think.
Not like I'd know. :)

Sierra Nevada is a classic, a great "gateway" beer, and among my American favorites. That they've managed to increase productivity and distribution w/o loosing any quality is quite a compliment to them.
Yummy.
Fat Tire I can live without, and have to anyway, though I know they've expanded into the Chicago market. I like some of New Belgium's other beers, though.
Stella isn't bad for what it is- a European mega beer. I have 'em from time to time, especially on hot days.
