Wayne Hancock
Mon, May 19th 2008
7:30pm326 Amherst Street,
Buffalo, NY
Wayne Hancock has been called "the master of Hillbilly swing," a "roots Renaissance man," a "country singer's country singer" and "Hank Williams meets Gershwin." But the phrase most frequently echoed throughout his career is "Wayne Hancock is the real deal." Joe Ely said it, Hank Williams III said it, Bobby Koefer from the Texas Playboys said it, as have countless music fans and writers when referring to Hancock's authentic and original blend of honky tonk, western swing, blues and big band that he calls "Juke Joint Swing".
Sean Patrick McGraw
Thu, May 22nd 2008
8:00pm326 Amherst Street,
Buffalo, NY
Sean Patrick McGraw and his band consisting of local WNY musicians (guitarist Joe Dalimonte is from Perrysburg, Bassist Randy Hofgren form Ellington, drummer Jimmy Isula from Derby) are swinging through Buffalo. McGraw, originally from Dunkirk, has traveled far since his days playing in hard rock bands around Buffalo in the late 80's. Indeed, the Fredonia State grad (B.A. Guitar Performance) would hardly be recognized by fans who followed him back in the days of Sinbads and the old SkyRoom. Leaving WNY in the mid-nineties, McGraw first traveled to Southern California where he traded his long hair and loud guitar for a few semesters of schooling in the Acoustic Folk scene of L.A. The attention of some indie labels there lead the aspiring singer/songwriter to Nashville soon after.

Brennen Leigh
Thu, May 29th 2008
7:30pm326 Amherst Street,
Buffalo, NY
Brennen Leigh's influences are rooted in the deepest traditions of American music. With a commanding voice and an onstage presence that contradicts her years, Leigh brings new life to a familiar sound with vocal range, power, and maturity rarely found in a young Midwestern girl. Since starting her first band in Fargo-Moorhead, the college-aged Minnesotan has recorded two albums and shared the stage with the likes of Nickel Creek, Karl Shifflett, the Nashville Bluegrass Band, and Ralph Stanley.
Pete Worden and the Hardtimers
Fri, May 30th 2008
9:30pm326 Amherst Street,
Buffalo, NY
Pete Worden remembers the first 45 record his parents gave him as an eight-year-old. He says it was an RCA record, Elvis's cover of Hound Dog, flip side Don't Be Cruel. When he heard those sides, his fate was sealed. "It really kicked," says Pete, "that killer guitar, and beat, oh man." However, Worden's early music career, the Elvis 45 notwithstanding, wouldn't necessarily indicate his current path. He has always had a diverse taste in music, and his personal collection, ranging from jazz and classical to roots music and heavy metal, reveals not only his taste in music but also his maturation as a musician. After playing cello and clarinet in grade school, he settled on electric bass for a large part of his early professional career. He toured nationally in the 80s, playing bass with hard rockers Ice Water Mansion.
