Eggplant Wings are Back !
Eggplant wings, the vegetarian version of the famed Buffalo classic, have flown back to Allentown!
Mary Tomaselli, owner of the cozy La Tee Da at 206 Allen Street (near Elmwood in the former Cybele’s restaurant), will have them on her excellent menu on Wednesday and Thursday nights only.
The recipe, created by Cybele’s cook Doug, comes hot only and very saucy. And, of course, the half-dozen wings come with traditional celery and bleu cheese for dipping. All Mary’s appetizers are reasonably priced – this app is $6.00.
Also of special, seasonal note at La Tee Da is several items incorporating fresh pumpkin. Last night’s dessert choices included eggnog cheesecake.
The phone number at La Tee Da is 881-4500 and there's parking on Allen as well as the lot alongside Rust Belt Books. NB: The images is of classic wings, didn't have the camera but imagine in lieu of the chunky chicken that they are neat and smooth little rectangles of happiness instead.
Mary has created an amazing atmosphere at this restaurant. It really is a special place. I took my parents there about 2 months ago and now they are hooked. Confession: I am addicted to their pizza. There. I said it.
Yeah, but were eggplant wings ever gone? You could always get them. Aren't they on the menu at Off the Wall?
Now if you were annoncing Cybele's is back, that would be a different story.
