Loft Living on Elmwood
William Zabka All-Stars inquired (after a recent post) whether there were any photos of the interior of the 504 Elmwood Avenue lofts. After the ribbon cutting the building was open for self-guided tours, so I snapped a few shots of one of the furnished units. One of the most notable features that I noticed before even walking into the building is the clean accessible alleyway that leads from the Utica parking lot to Elmwood. This feature makes it convenient for tenants to either run out to their cars, or take a stroll in the shopping district.
The stairway that leads to the units is filled with interesting reddish-orange lit wall boxes and colorful art. The exterior window panels allow these areas plenty of light, and clean modern railings accompany each visitor while walking up or down. A private hallway leads past the sleeping accommodations to the common areas, ie. the open kitchen, breakfast nook, living area, and spiral staircase. The loft space was not decorated, rather it was left to the imagination of future occupants. These can be the favorite getaway rooms for lounging, sleeping, working, etc. These lofts are the hearts of the units and can tell a lot about what type of person dwells within. The unit showcased here is furnished by Advance Furniture Inc. 716-875-3237 • 2525 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14217. Interested? Here's the website.

These are very nice. I dunno if they are real "lofts", more like upscale apartments like many of the new downtown units that assume the loft title.
However, new developments like this should be in the form of condos. Paying over $1,000/mo. for an apartment along Elmwood seems kinda weird to me. Is the rumor true that they're having some trouble leasing these units?
I bet if they were condos they'd all would have been snatched up right away. I can make a safe guesstimate that there is certainly a market for new living spaces in this neighborhood. Alot of people would like to own the Elmwood Village yet have no interest in sinking money into an old Victorian.
2 bdrm condos for like 100-150K would be a hot sell in this area. Add in some valet parking and the deal is sealed!
C'mon local developers, quite scratching yer asses and start building condos. Elmwood already has critical mass...so there's no excuses...
Great pics, Queens!! The place looks GREAT. Heard most of the 9 places are already rented.
Am I the only one who found the quote from Bishop Head about not leaving Buffalo a tad hilarious?
do they have a website?
Added it to the end of the post.
