Architect to Discuss Buffalo's Bridges

Buffalo's bridges, past, present and future-- their places in our community in terms of our notice of them, their functionality and design--will be the topic when Buffalo-based architect Clinton Brown, President of Clinton Brown Co. On view at the Historical Society is a related photographic exhibit, Bridging Buffalo, which features local bridges as seen through the lens of photographer Bruce Jackson. This exhibit will continue through January 28, 2007.

So what did ever happen to the Signature Bridge?
Actually, I was wondering what was happening with the Black Rock bridge. Wasn't there a private development company that bought a bunch of property for a new bridge?
What bridges are left?
The Peace Bridge Expansion is stalled
The Michigan Street Bridge to the outer Harbor has never been replaced
The other notable bridges over the canals were eliminated when they were filled in
The bridges over the Scajaquada were eliminated when the river was burried.
God only knows if there are any wooden covered bridges left in the Southern Tier and southtowns
Id be interested in hearing what bridges he actually wants to discuss?
We don't need a new Peace Bridge. The Bridge has more than enough capacity for the actual traffic volume. What is needed is an improved way to get people through customs. Everytime I drive by the Peace Bridge it looks like a parking lot. What will a new bridge do?
We definitely do need an addition to the Peace Bridge. Truck traffic is predicted to triple in the next 10 years while rail is predicted to double.
Its not all about your little single passenger car. lol! And while Buffalos population is still dropping and so there are less Buffalonians heading to Canada.....Ontarios population is growing is with Buffalos population losses and job losses...if it wasnt for the Canadians there would be no profitable malls or shopping centers and people would be driving to Rochester to catch flights.
Yes, we need a new bridge to bring those Canadiens to our sports, entertainment, culturals, retail, airports and businesses. We should kiss their ass when they come and next stick them in a customs line for an hour either!
Rochester??? Hmmmmm.....
