Oak Loft Slideshow

If you were thinking of renting at Oak School Lofts, you had better want a one-bedroom. As of earlier this week, that is all that was left, and just one of them. Located at 266 Oak Street, the former Buffalo Alternative School contains 29 loft-like apartments. Signature Development has leased 28 of the units in just over five months at rents starting at $800/month. Buffalo Rising Online reader Pat Davis was lucky enough to lease one of the last two-bedroom, two story units that is pictured here.

Apartments feature granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, kitchen islands, hardwood floors, fireplaces, marble bath floors, walk-in closets, 10-foot ceilings, and plasma TVs. The project also includes 8,000 sq.ft. of office space for lease. Get connected: 861-5385.

OMG. That was a sweet slideshow and perfect music. I saw the space before it was finished and I can't wait to go back. See if you can get Pat to do a segment on the theatre inside the building.

Id say that this is very strong incentive for investors who have been renovating downtown and the westside to begin looking to the eastside next.

One has to wonder when South Buffalo will get on the radar screen. My guess is when Bass Pro and the Casino open since the Botanical Gardens, the Basilica, South Park and Cazenovia are all within a few miles away. A new Buffalo Convention Center is all but assured to go in that area.

Until the eastside addresses extending the light rail to the airport, the Kensington Expressway and the I-90....the eastside is going to be fragmented....never-the-less....downtown is moving eastward and southward (forced by all the historical districts & cultural districts west and north of the city.

Awesome slides. My father taught here at the BAHS in the seventies. He was the one that made the AHS sign above the main enterance.
