Today was a good day for Buffalo Old Home Week. Jeffrey Zaslow (far left), Senior Special Writer for The Wall Street Journal, came into town to write up a piece about Buffalo Old Home Week. Jeff called last week inquiring about the production and thought it would make for an interesting article. That's good news for Buffalo Old Home Week and even better news for Buffalo. The large circulation of the WSJ will reach a contingent of Buffalonians that might not be aware of what is taking place back home. It will also signal to readers that something special is taking place in our city.

A group of us met Jeff at Cafe 59 for lunch this afternoon to answer many of the questions that he had in regards to the event. Present at the discussion was Ed Healy of the CVB, and OHW committee members Dr. Ethan Cox, Chris Smith, Marti Gorman, Amy Maxwell, Emily Lowrey (BR), and Harvey Garrett. Everyone came prepared to stamp out many of the city's negative misperceptions. I believe that Jeff came away from the meeting with plenty of ammo for what we hope will be an amazing article about the future of Buffalo and the progress being made to attract its greatest resources back home... its people. Look for the article to be published this Thursday (fingers crossed).
