D’Avolio grows “beyond tapas.”
Yes, we have evolved my friends.  This evolution has been a slow and steady one.  Our hunting and gathering forefathers would be proud of our remarkable progression to a highly advanced society of pickers and dippers.  Yes, I said pickers and dippers.  You know what I'm talking about.  We love to pick.  We love to dip.  Picking on imported cheese with freshly baked crusty bread dipped in seasoned olive oil.  Nibbling on some marinated olives and a small pasta salad with a glass of Italian red wine for a light summer evening repast.

This is what

Land Banks Called a Long-Term Solution to Vacant Property Problem

Assemblymember Sam Hoyt and Senator David Valesky (D-Oneida) announce the passage of legislation (A373A/S663A) that would allow for the creation of land banks in New York State.  Land banks, entities that take control of problem properties and then redevelop or dispose of them in a manner consistent with the public's interest, are a proven strategic tool for cities and counties where the number of vacant properties outpaces the private market's ability to deal with them.  Buffalo Mayor Brown, no fan of Hoyt, has objected

O3: An oasis for organic food lovers
Are you one of those people who just wants to eat healthy? Someone who is forced to order from a menu that is built for the chicken wing crowd? Do you feel that everyone looks at you funny when you order a field greens salad with dressing on the side? Then when the salad comes it looks more like iceberg lettuce? Not to mention that there was no light dressing to choose from so you ended up with Ranch. Are you required to travel to multiple eateries during the same meal in search of a wrap, a smoothie and an organic cookie? If these situations sound familiar, you are not alone. Thankfully, there

This Place Mattered: 390-402 Michigan Avenue

Considering the National Trust for Historic Preservation is coming in four months, the logical thought would be that developers and others would be scrambling to show their recent preservation efforts.  Not so much for a row of commercial buildings along Michigan Avenue near the recently rehabilitated Alling and Cory Building.

Although the details surrounding the demolition permit are not known, the Buffalo Preservation Board had tabled a demolition request from property owner Crestline Development in March.  Beginning this past Saturday, this historic stretch of buildings

While seafood lovers enjoyed their clams casino, ocean kayaks headed out from the Inner Harbor thanks to an increased selection of personal water crafts offered at BFLO Harbor Kayak.
