Last night's public hearing at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery played to around 400 attendees, 60 of whom commented after the initial presentation of the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Study (DGEIS) for Canal Side.
ECHDC Board Chairman Jordan Levy opened the hearing with the statement that the plan those in attendance were about to see was the culmination of 7 years of work, and he asked that all "keep an open mind."

EE&K Architects Founder Stan Eckstut said that the Erie

Architectural Design: What to Replicate, Redesign or Save

The October issue of Metropolis magazine focuses a bit of attention on Buffalo and on the Martin House complex in particular. The magazine has some nice things to say about the City of Buffalo, and they also offer a philosophical question to ponder.

Though construction was halted on the $333 million Buffalo Creek last year due to "economic downturn," according to a Seneca spokesman, the temporary facility continued to operate in the face

Some of my favorite BRO posts have been from of my "Now and Then" series.  They expose so much about the City of Buffalo through time, both positive and negative.  Unfortunately, I have pretty much run out of my own historic images, but I recently stumbled on a treasure trove of Buffalo pictures from 1986 taken by David Daruszka.

As Buffalo prepares for the National Trust for Preservation conference in 2011 (and this is a big deal by the way), the the E.B.
