Commented on What's Your Wish for 2013
The sides streets in particular (especially the East Side) need a lot of work done. Constantly going over potholes isn't good for your c*r....

Commented on Bills Changes: Chan Gailey Out, Russ Brandon Promoted to CEO
That's true I guess, but I think football would have a lot more visitors than hockey. It's a good thing, but the logistics are what make it complicated. If they can find a spot downtown for a Bills stadium, I'm...

Commented on Bills Changes: Chan Gailey Out, Russ Brandon Promoted to CEO
Where would they put it though? Traffic's a bottleneck and a football stadium would make it a lot worse. I don't think a lot of people from the northern/eastern suburbs and the Southtowns would be willing to take mass transit,...

Commented on Bills Changes: Chan Gailey Out, Russ Brandon Promoted to CEO
Hopefully they can take out that parking lot at the Bills stadium, move the stadium closer, and include some new curbs and some exquisite ethnic restaurants. Also, a bike lane in the sidelines would be beautiful....

Commented on Construction Watch: Cynthia Gardens
Holy geez, it's Christmas and the commenters here are STILL fighting with each other over petty "urban" issues? This blog has become more unreadable by the day. Happy holidays....

Commented on Preliminary Work Starts on Revised Medical Campus Building
NOOO!!! It's much easier to sit on my Mac at the co-op and whine about how terrible and clueless designers are while having no experience or ideas myself! Downvotes to you sir!...

Commented on Preliminary Work Starts on Revised Medical Campus Building
I'd rather focus on, you know, the road in front of me, so I don't cause an accident....

Commented on Campaign for Greater Buffalo v. Public Bridge Authority in Federal Court Today
Those houses appear to be the most fixable out of any I've seen on the West Side. Tearing them down is incredibly stupid and shortsighted but unfortunately, I fear greed may prevail in this argument....

Commented on Demolition of Kensington Heights to Continue Through Winter

Commented on Fillmore Avenue Gets Repaved, Reconfigured, and Bike Lanes
That stretch of Fillmore has some serious potential if it ever gets some investment. It's a very pretty stretch of road with beautiful landscaping and houses full of character. Repaving the road is a good start....

Commented on Students to Unveil Multimedia Poster Presentations Inspired by Non-Profits
At the risk of getting downvoted/deleted, I graduated from Medaille, and it seemed every year the incoming freshmen got progressively worse. I had friends who worked in admissions that often remarked how a lot of the admissions essays were usually...

And instead of those urban-esque overhead lamps that they use, they should light the store with chandeliers. Also if they have room for a charter school somewhere in the store, that would be good too....

Commented on Elmwood Village Black Friday Boutique Crawl
The panhandling has been ridiculous on Elmwood lately. I can't walk to Cole's anymore without getting stopped at least twice by beggars. Just now I was harassed twice by this lady while I was just trying to get groceries out...

Commented on Work Starts on School Conversion Project in Riverside
Has anyone driven past School 60 lately? It's in rough shape and certainly wasn't reusable as a school. I'm glad it's being put back to work again. I'm no fan of low-income housing, but one less abandoned empty building is...

Commented on The Frederick Law Olmsted School at Kensington-Buffalo's Other Art Deco Building
Looking at pictures from before the reconstruction, it appeared that there weren't any handicap-accessible entrances. The new entrance is ground level and contains an elevator in to the main school, along with a new main office suite and a very...

Commented on The Frederick Law Olmsted School at Kensington-Buffalo's Other Art Deco Building
Riverside could be a prime location if it weren't for the 190 cutting through it. While the area doesn't offer much in terms of historical architecture, it has a lot of potential as a residential community....
