Commented on School Board Elections Today
I find it fascinating that education policy stirs up so much hostility. It is probably the single issue that people of all genders, races, income levels, and political affiliations agree on the desired outcome: a well prepared population of young...

Commented on School Board Elections Today
I actually do agree with a majority of your post CindyLee, but was turned off by what I perceived as an attack on a group of people that was never expanded on, or related to the rest of your comment....

Commented on School Board Elections Today
OP, Clarence, Williamsville, and Amherst are also overwhelmingly Republican (and all Republicans are tea-baggers, right?). Perhaps misbehaved children are learning from the liberal "elite" who are ok with using a derogatory sexual term to classify a belief system....

Commented on School Board Elections Today
Shockingly "tea-baggers" are more often than not the parents raising those well behaved kids. I'm glad you put that so early in your post though, because it allowed me to mentally tune out....

Commented on Fiamma's second chance to make a first impression
Just responding to the guy who wanted to criticize me, while admitting that my point was correct. I'm sure the food will be fine, but this city really allows people to get away with too much laziness the second they...

Commented on Fiamma's second chance to make a first impression

Commented on Book Review: Government Schools are Bad for Your Kids
One school is referenced with immigrant children. The article also talks about small school sizes. A noble idea, and also much easier to make a reality in a country of 5 million....

Commented on Fiamma's second chance to make a first impression
Has he taken down the "Re-Ignition January 2013" sign yet? Because it was still up two weeks ago. It's a bit embarrassing and doesn't give me a ton of confidence that he'll be on top of his game....

Commented on Book Review: Government Schools are Bad for Your Kids
Homogeneity is the single largest reason for more successful schools in other parts of the world. It might make some feel good about themselves to willfully ignore this, but it's true....

Commented on Parks are not empty space to put highways! Go to this meeting if you agree.
Hey maybe I should take my decent suburban salary and move out of the city then? That sounds like the best way to help Buffalo. I'll drive down Delavan on my way to work when people stop walking across the...

Commented on Parks are not empty space to put highways! Go to this meeting if you agree.
I don't live remotely close to the 190 or 290, but very close to the 198. Are you going to pay for all the extra fuel (POLLUTION! BAD!) it would require me to get to work every day?...

Commented on A petition for municipal sidewalk snowplowing in Buffalo
The city can't adequately plow my street, and now I'm supposed to get behind giving them more money to inadequately plow my sidewalk? No thanks. Ever notice how much better the suburbs plow? If the city could achieve those results,...

Commented on Cities: Rather Than Patronizing Young People, Give Them What They Ask For
No, but they are flocking to areas like Austin, Raleigh, and Atlanta for lower taxes and affordable housing. Oh, and jobs, which business owners create fewer of when there are more tax burdens on them....
