  Unfortunately, Italian Village on Grant is closed. As brookeinbuffalo already mentioned, La Tee Da is on the west end of Allen Street. It's especially nice when the patio is open....

  I agree with you as far as the Sahara Grill is concerned. There isn't ANYTHING like it here in Minneapolis. Quality neighborhood restaurants are one of the things I miss most about Buffalo since I relocated to the Twin Cities a little over a year ago. Gabriel's Gate used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Allentown, and I have to agree that since it changed hands, the level of quality of service suffered greatly....

  The food at La Tee Da is WONDERFUL, however, I've only eaten there once and didn't go back, simply because she has too many tables crammed into a very small space, not to mention that she had a three-piece jazz band shoehorned in next to the bar as well. It was a bit disconcerting having to move my drink so it wasn't in the bass player's way....

  Sahara grill now closed due to unreconcilable differences with the owners. They were good but always had something great on the menu that they were out of, sorry but not acceptable so I crossed them off my list. LaTeeDa and the owner are charming, food is pretty good but a bit overpriced for what it is, this is not NYC btw. The place is tiny and the chair I was in made me almost slide out of it as I was wedged against the wall in the entrance. All in all nice and different. I hear the terrace is great...
