- Bio: Black Rock homeowner interested in the five R's - reduce, reuse, recycle, rehabilitate, revitalize. Really excited by all the positive turns I'm seeing in the business districts of BR and the West Side. I believe that more homeowners = a better city and thoroughly support efforts to get working class individuals and families into their own homes. I hope that in my lifetime Black Rock will again be a thriving family-filled community as it once was. I envision it boasting a newly diverse, interesting array of cultures and businesses fueled by immigration, Buffalo's ever-expanding art and music scenes, and local entrepreneurship. A big thank you to all those newly investing in the area and an even bigger thank you to all the long-time residents/business owners who refuse to give up and run.

Commented on Dour's Boutique: A good fit for Grant Street
I agree partially with MikeN. While it is great she has high standards, and doesn't want the area to fall prey to a lot of the "ghetto" businesses that have popped up in low income neighborhoods sometimes less "unique" types...

Commented on Planning 101: Don't Leave Out the Residents
"Rent will be $500 for the two-bedroom, $550 for the three-bedroom and $600 for the four-bedroom units." - This is subsidized housing? Those prices are on par with rent for 3/4 of the city's lower income neighborhoods, many of which...

The city is very willy-nilly with tax assessment. I can totally believe someone in Allentown sees an instant tax hike based on purchase price, but that's almost unheard of in lower income areas in my experience. There are houses in...
