So does winter in the city. But does your skin know that? Ahava is the only cosmetic company native to Israel. They are cruelty free ( duh, every cosmetic company should be) and use gentle ingredients like sea salt, mud and desert plants all harvested from the shores of the Dead Sea. They only take what is necessary so that the area can replenish itself NATURALLY. The Ahava production processes are also non-polluting. This might sound a little hippy-dippy to some, but the results are super effective and luxurious face and body products.

Why exfoliate and make sure all the products you are using at this time of year are mild? As the weather gets cooler the air gets drier and people tend to take hotter showers (maybe a little longer, as well, since it can be so hard to get out on a chilly fall morning), this of course results in itchy, scaly skin. A gentle exfoliator and a…

The Gravity Thieves will be playing at the CPO Club tonight, Friday Sept 30th. Show starts at 7:30pm. This is one of the least known, coolest hangouts in the city. It's a place that is dedicated to serving our military. It's a place that celebrates our waterfront. It's a place that recognizes 'The Salt of the Earth' in Buffalo. This is a place that you... well... you just have to visit. The club is riddled with stories of Lake Erie and Buffalo, as well as the p…

Bankroll or Bust: Betting on the DL&W

If, and that is a big eifi, the Seneca Nation eventually builds a casino in Downtown Buffalo, the DL&W (Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad) train terminal is the best choice as far as location is concerned. I have been fascinated with the DL&W ever since my dad took me down to see The Cotter (Buffalois fireboat) when I was a kid.

The terminal is an awesome sight (site) on the river. I donit think that many Buffalonians understand how big this complex actually is…

Bill Tennant, fishing in an open 14'10" boat found that his outboard motor had failed and was swept out to sea off Northern Ireland, into the teeth of a force eight gail. The local lifeboat captain put his chances at 80 to 1 against Bill. If the sea didn't get him, hypothermia would. After 11 hours, the gale blew out, and 30 hours after he'd first set off, he was found. Under his Barbour jacket, his clothing was dry. He'd lost weight, was exhausted, but was otherwise ha…

Remember Rosemary Woods? She was the poor civil servant who leaned on the button that erased 18 minutes of prime tapes during the Nixon Administration.

Now, either The Department of Permits and Inspections in the City of Buffalo has determined that the residents are way too young or uneducated to remember this, or the management of this office does not clearly train new "temp" position employees to test equipment before using it.

Case in point: The August 23, 2005 Administrat…
