During a recent trip down to the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery, we discovered that the pub had Wi-Fi. Now I know that we have been covering a lot of cafes recently due to the abundance of wireless, but we were really surprised to find a pub that catered to the needs of the cyber-community. Not only does Pearl Street have good food and great beer, but they have the ability to offer both to people that want to bring their laptops along.

JetBlue's recent announcement of direct flights from Buffalo to Boston is heavenly news! For three years now, this Bostonian (now "Buffa-lite") has been trying to find easy and affordable ways to travel back and forth but was reduced to driving the 450 miles each way. (Doable? Yes. Enjoyable? No.) With the rise in gas prices, plus tolls, and requisite rest stop burgers, it costs well over $100 roundtrip to travel from the Queen City to Beantown via Route 90. (And the drive eats up about 16 hours of your vacation!)

But, starting June 30, JetBlue will have 3 non-stop flights a day from Buffalo to Boston, with regular one way fares between $64 and $139. So this summer, if you are a Buffalonian living in Boston and are hankering for a …

Community-based organizations and neighborhood groups who have taken responsibility and initiative to try to revitalize their area are making Buffalo a better place. People who want to make a neighborhood work, sense that they must look first to themselves and their neighbors- not to City Hall- to solve community problems…

My daughter and I were enjoying a quiet afternoon (work for me, a Leapfrog DVD for her) when she suddenly said, "It's spring today, Mommy, and I'd like to go for a walk."

I had to admit that she was right, even though it's still kind of chilly. Plus, I never miss a chance to continue showing her what's so great about Buffalo.

One M&T Plaza has been one of my favorite buildings since the first time I laid eyes on it as a child approximately 40 years ago. Back then downtown was where you went to shop and run errands. I loved any opportunity to accompany my parents and grandparents into the city for what was sure to be an adventure. The jam packed bus ride, the hustle bu…
