Running through February 24th, this is a collection of iconic portraits in vibrant reds. These are iconic portraits, extremely rich in texture and color, in small and large formats. At a time of year when much of the world is showing in muted tones, this series will bring a much-needed jolt of warmth and brightness to your life. Peter's work, and his gallery, are a treasured part of the Buffalo art scene. This would be a great time to introduce yourself, if you're not familiar with them.

Kepa3 Gallery, 31 Barker Street, Buffalo, 716.884.2602, 5:30 - 9:30 PM.

That's what Sandy (owner of Elmwood Village Fabrics) told me after a first time customer walked out of her boutique yesterday. The customer, who had driven in from Batavia, had acted like a kid in a candy shop and kept telling Sandy that her shop was the best fabric shop she had seen (outside of New Mexico where she was from). I wanted to be a part of getting more people up and running with the hobby"

The Pfaff machines are contemporary and easy to use. They're great for beginners, yet their performance keeps the seasoned sewer happy. Both models ($299/$599) are loaded …

The Right Stuff for Cycling In the White Stuff

Christa Glennie Seychew

Most think of cycling as a sport for fair weather. Not so, say cycling enthusiasts. Whether in your home or out on our slushy streets, with a few additions to your bike and wardrobe, cycling can be a great way to get in shape over the winter.

Grbavica: The Land of My Dreams

Gabrielle Bouliane

CROSSINGS: 11th Annual International Women's Film Festival presents Grbavica: The Land of My Dreams on February 1, 2007. One obvious truth about foreign films is not just the insight into other cultures daily lives, but the struggles so far from our privileged lives here even in wartime America that we can't even conceive of the potential impact on individuals. This film promises to be an incredible story of a paperwork issue turned into an emotional and historical nightmare.
