Come and See: Art Show and Live Jazz at Lafayette Church
A special art show, sponsored by Relevant Worship Ministries and Lafayette Church, will focus on four different under-appreciated artists, all of them local.  It's an outgrowth of Lafayette's new Sunday night service, which is attracting creative people with its' original music and improvisational style.

Suzie Hoisington, the show's organizer has worked with these artists for quite some time, but none of them have had the opportunity to publicly present their work.  It's part of the church's mission to connect to and celebrate people that the rest of the world might overlook.

This is a free event, with the doors opening at 5pm.  There will be live Jazz on Sunday from 8-10pm, as well as light hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

Theological Thursdays: Senator Grisanti’s Dilemma
Tomorrow, when the State Senate votes on the Marriage Equality Bill, Buffalo's Mark Grisanti could make the difference between the bill, which would allow for same-sex marriage in New York State, passing or failing.

Grisanti, who had previously stated that he would vote against such a bill, has announced that he is now undecided.  He has stated that he believes in the issue from a civil rights, standpoint, but has difficulty reconciling that with his Catholic beliefs.

Today's poster is a new addition to Buffalo.  Jeremy Hazelton is the Lead & Teaching Pastor for Village Church, a new
community of Faith in the Elmwood Village. Village Church will begin hosting weekly worship gatherings this fall.  They are online at www.villagechurchbflo.com.  Look here for a profile when the church "launches" this

Theoligical ‘Thursdays’: Pride Parade Past the Presbyterians
This week, the Pride Parade, with its new route, assembles outside our church.  As I considered what, if anything, the church should do, a good discussion developed on my facebook page.

Instead of my usual post, I invited one of the participants in that discussion, Kristen Becker, to have a longer conversation, which we will have posted for your listening pleasure momentarily.

The relationship between the church and the LBGT community has been a rocky one, to say the least.  This Sunday is
