As we all know, Ralph Wilson works in mysterious ways. He gave Dick Jauron a 3 year contract extension after the Bills stared the 2008 season 5-2. This, of course, was after Jauron went 7-9 in his previous two seasons as the Bills head coach. Since signing his contract extension, Jauron's Bills went 5-13. Wilson finally woke up to the reality that Jauron had no business serving as a head coach in the NFL and promptly fired him after the bye week. Of course, most NFL teams make in-season coaching changes before the bye week to give the new coach transition time to prepare for the next game. Well, not Ralph.
And it turns out that Ralph didn't even really fire Jauron, according to WIVB. Channel 4 reports that Wilson gave Jauron the opportunity to stay on board until the end of the season.
