Buffalo Choral Arts Society Auditions Today, 1/2

The Buffalo Choral Arts Society will conduct mid-season auditions for the remainder of its 2006-2007 Season tonight, Tuesday, January 2, 2007, beginning at 6 PM at St. Joseph’s University Church. A little-known fact about me is that I sang for 20 years in school, beginnning under Ken Doyle's instruction. Being part of a chorus was a tremendous way to not only develop musically, but when singing in group, to feel yourself as physically part of the music, resonating as if a living string on a guitar.
BCAS encourages all singers who are impassioned with the choral art to consider becoming a member of this prestigious community chorus. The group is seeking singers for all voice parts. Prospective auditioners are asked to prepare a solo from any published source. The ten-minute audition will include pitch-matching, voice placement and a simple sight-reading passage.
For more information and to obtain an audition time, singers are asked to contact Nancy Cannizzaro at 847-6930 (w) or evenings at 856-1357 (h).
The Buffalo Choral Arts Society, a 115-member community chorus under the direction of Marcia A. Giambrone, Conductor/Music Director, is committed to the introduction and performance of the highest quality choral literature from the past and present. BCAS will develop, enrich and entertain present and future audiences, as well as provide affordable concerts in a variety of accessible venues.
Founded in 1966 by Robert F. Schulz, BCAS is a proud member of the Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County and Chorus America.
