Another interesting idea/concept/project is about to get funded in Buffalo. The Awesome Foundation is preparing to host the next Awesome Buffalo Pitch Night on Tuesday, June 27 at The Washington Market. Sweet Buffalo Rocks (lead image) will be going toe to toe with four other concepts, vying for a $1000 grant.
Each finalist will have 90 seconds to introduce their project, followed by audience questions and answers.
The goal of The Awesome Foundation is to dole out a $1000 grant quarterly, with no strings attached (learn more). The first concept to get funded was Seth Amman’s “Rainbows on Allen“.
If you would like to see how Sweet Buffalo Rocks does against the four other awesome ideas, then you are welcome to attend the Awesome Buffalo Pitch Night, set to be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, June 27 at The Washington Market.
Sweet Buffalo Rocks is an initiative that sees various fun and inspirational messages painted on rocks, and then hidden throughout the city. This initiative is already underway, (see Facebook group), with more than 1700 members, many who are painting and hiding rocks at this moment. The funding would allow the group to get more messages out on more rocks. Members believe that by hiding the messages all over the city, they are spreading goodness in the process.
“I’m excited and nervous at the same time,” said Sweet Buffalo Rocks creator Kimberly LaRussa. “Whether my project wins or loses, this is sure to be an inspiring night.”
The finalists include:
-
The Open Storefront Makeover Program
-
Video Series: LOUD
-

-
A Bollywood Showcase
-
