It’s one thing to read about all of the green advancements being made by People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH), it’s another to see it firsthand. Every so often, the organization sets up a series of tours that allows people to witness the earth/people-friendly undertakings in person. The tours are designed to introduce community members to PUSH’s environmental and social initiatives that include “affordable housing construction, community-based renewable energy projects, housing weatherization, green jobs training, green infrastructure, and vacant land restoration projects.”
This is a very insightful opportunity to learn about the forward-thinking advancements that are taking place right in our very own neighborhoods. The community-led projects are part of PUSH’s Green Development Zone, which puts Buffalonians to work by training them to utilize responsible practices needed for a Green Economy.
The next Green Development Zone Tour dates are:
Wednesday, June 8th @ 8am
Tuesday, June 21st @ 6pm
Wednesday, July 6th @ 8am
All tours begin at 460 Massachusetts Avenue, Buffalo, NY
If you are interested in attending an hour-long tour, email PUSH’s Development Assistant: Julia White @ juliawhite@pushbuffalo.org, or Ahmad Nieves @ ahmadnieves@pushbuffalo.org.
