Developers have until Monday June 27 to submit their proposals for the former North Park Library. A proposal had been drawn up and submitted by Benderson Development to transition the corner of Elmwood and Hertel into a much larger building footprint, but after the preservation community raised a stink over the plans, Benderson dropped out.
Now the City has re-issued an RFP, looking for a plan that is more sensitive to the neighborhood, although the RFP does not state that the existing library building must be part of the development (the building is not a registered landmark).
The new proposal submission deadline is Monday June 27, 2106 4:00pm (EST). Click here to view the RFP.
