If you thought there is a large number of residential units underway in and around downtown right now you’d be correct. There are 494 apartments currently under construction in fifteen projects ranging from three unit projects at 5-7 Genesee Street and 220 Franklin Street to 78 units at Buffalo River Landing along Ohio Street. Most are market-rate apartments but three of the projects are subsidized or special needs housing.
220 Franklin Street. 3 units by Lisa Martineck (Cappelo Salon).
298 Main. 26 units by Kissling Interests.
368 Broadway. 47 units by HELP USA.
399 Ohio Street. 21 units by Ellicott Development.
5-7 Genesee Street. 3 units by a partnership that includes Steve Carmina and Roger Trettel.
Bosche Building. 23 units by Greenleaf.
Buffalo River Landing. 78 units by FFZ/Savarino.
Evergreen Lofts. 56 units by Evergreen Foundation.
JR Barrington Building. 12 units by 686 Main LLC.
Lofts @ Elk Terminal. 25 units by First Amherst Development.

Shoreline Apartments. 48 units by Norstar USA.
The Glenny. 36 units by Priam Enterprises.
The Sinclair. 45 units by Ciminelli Real Estate Corp.

The vast majority of the projects involve adaptive reuse of historic structures. The two Ohio Street projects and the replacement units at Shoreline are new-builds.
