A two-story building that housed Kepa3 Gallery and Peter Fowler Studio is going residential and expanding by one level. Glendale Realty Services Group is seeking City approvals to put 21 apartments in the building.
Glendale’s Barker Street Apartments LLC purchased the 34,200 sq.ft., circa-1930 building on March 4 from 31-33 Barker Street LLC for $875,000. The Buffalo News has the details on the $2 million conversion project:
Plans by Silvestri Architects for the new brick-and-steel-frame building feature 21 units in all, with four apartments and 26 indoor parking spaces on the first floor and 17 loft-style units on the second and third floors. Glendale also plans to upgrade the existing brick facade and put in some new windows. The entrance and exit would be off Barker.
The adaptive reuse project joins a number of Midtown apartment projects including Fenton Village and Midtown Apartments by Sinatra & Company Real Estate, the Packard Apartments, ArtSpace, and the recently proposed Willoughby Place.
