Every Wednesday in May, the public is invited inside the Ellicott Square Building to be entertained by broadway, opera, and jazz singers. From noon to 1pm, people can come visit one of the most architecturally majestic buildings in the world, order lunch, and listen to a few of the premier vocal talents in the region singing opera classics, Broadway hits, and jazz favorites.
Singin’ in the Square is presented by Nickel City Opera. The thought behind the initiative is to provide people with inspirational music and song during the course of the work day. If this lunchtime series is a success, then one would imagine that more programming of this nature will ensue. That means that Downtown workers will hopefully take the time to step away from their desks, and venture out in search of a magnificent and inspirational experience.
