This past February, BRO writer Bruce Haydon reported on the future development of 97 West Avenue (also 295 Maryland Avenue) – a former brownfield program cleanup site. After Planning Board gave the project the ‘thumbs up’, the developer, Anthony LoRusso, began to proceed with the initial building building stages of what is being called Casa Serena.
Construction is now well underway on the 54 market-rate one and two-bedroom apartments. The balconies seen in the following rendering, front West Avenue. The majority of the parking will be located on the Maryland Avenue side.
The project comes with a price tag of $5.3 million.
97 West Avenue is centrally located, in close proximity to Johnson Park (greatest pickles in the land), and not too far from Betty’s Restaurant. This is an up and coming neighborhood, loaded with potential.
