The emoji has become a part of daily life for most people. Even my mom has figured out how to use emojis when she is texting. What started off as a simple facial emoticon has become an army of symbols, ubiquitous with texting.
Now a local app development company called Eat Brain LLC has come up with a way to take the common emoji to an entirely different level. Eat Brain has come up with a multiplayer game app (free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) that combines the playfulness of the emoji with an old school game – charades. Instead of acting out the words and phrases, the players must construct strands of emojis to play, using a custom emoji keyboard.
“Emoji With Me challenges users in a fun and familiar way to see how well they can communicate in our emoji-obsessed society,” said Eat Brain’s co-founder and lead developer Mark Zorn. “We’ve combined the best elements from several tried-and-true classic games that everyone has grown up playing and fused them together with modern technology to make a fresh, accessible game for a new generation of casual mobile gamers.”
The game app has been released with a slew of phrase categories to choose from, and will offer downloadable expansion packs down the road. Along with a player’s ability to create his or her own categories and phrases, the gameplay options are limitless.
Emoji With Me launches with three different gameplay styles:
– Players compete among friends
– Players compete while paired with random community teammates
– Players can practice on their own in solo mode
Emoji With Me is available for download on both iOS and Android mobile devices.
