It was a big day for Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation yesterday. The busy developer was chosen to develop a mixed-use project on a City-owned parking lot at 201 Ellicott Street and also purchased the Garrett Leather Building at 1360 Niagara Street for $2 million.
Fifty-one apartments and a small amount of commercial space are proposed for the 80,000 sq.ft. building that was constructed in 1919 for the Mentholatum Company.
Ciminelli is nearly ready for its next residential project as it is finishing up work on The Sinclair at 465 Washington Street. The six-story building that was the long-time home of the Educational Opportunity Center will house 45 apartments and commercial space. Tenants are expected to begin moving into the complex this spring.
