A third Larkin District apartment project is moving forward. KCG Development’s AP Loft Apartments LP paid $1.5 million for the former A&P warehouse yesterday. Mesmer Refrigeration was the seller. Ohio-based Miller Valentine Group announced plans to convert the building at 545 Swan Street into apartments in November 2014 but that deal unraveled last year.
The warehouse building occupies the block bounded by Swan, Hamburg, Myrtle and Jefferson Avenue at the edge of the Larkin District. It is adjacent to Seneca Street Lofts’ 41 units and the 98 recently-opened units in Hydraulic Lofts at 500 Seneca Street.
KCG’s $38 million plan calls for 147 affordable (earning between 60 and 90 percent of area median income) and market rate apartments, indoor parking, and fitness and business centers. Carmina Wood Morris is designing the project.
