How many timed have you ever defended a snowstorm by comparing its attributes to those of typically harsher natural phenomena such as a hurricane, or a forest fire? Obviously Buffalo is accustomed to the occasional snowstorm, and people from Buffalo can tell you a lot about how they behave, and how to behave in turn. And that means that there’s no one better than a Buffalonian to put a snowstorm into perspective.
Buffalo expat David Dudley has done just that. In response to the snow that has hammered the East Coast (while leaving Buffalo alone), the journalist has relayed a few Buffalo anecdotes, meant to assuage New Yorkers of their trepidations caused by the immense snowfall.
His advice on the subject has been published in The New York Times. Most tried and true Buffalonians will be able to relate with the article, and its ability to rethink the nature of a blizzard, by embracing it rather than fighting it. It’s an interesting take on the subject. Dudley has done a wonderful job expressing what most Buffalonians already feel.
