The world’s largest game creation event is heading back to Buffalo. Over the course of one weekend, artists, designers, musicians and programmers will come together to create ‘complete and playable’ games. The event will take place between January 29 and 31. It’s going to be a super exciting game jam experience, with some talented and creative people in the WNY community coming together to roll out the fully functioning games.
“This is the third time we’ve hosted a site,” says BGS Board Member John Futscher. “We’re beyond excited to once again participate in this worldwide event, and we can’t wait to see what our incredibly talented community comes up with.”
Buffalo joined 518 sites in 78 countries in 2015. The recent explosion of the game jam culture is phenomenal.
“We strongly encourage anyone with even a passing interest in making a game to join us,” continues Futscher. “Game jams are one of the most fun events we host, and attendees learn more in that weekend than most people do in a month. On top of that, at the end of the weekend you get to walk out and show your friends something they can play from start to finish.”
Global Game Jam is free and open to anyone who wants to attend. It’s also open to people who want to participate in making a game. Attendees can register at the BGS jam site page.
