I am not going to waste anyone’s time writing about the same mistakes that take place week in and week out with this team. If you want that summary, just read any article that has been written over the last 15 years. I had a chance to watch ESPNs 30 for 30 on the Four Falls of Buffalo Saturday night and it reminded me of how special that team really was. I then started thinking about the disconnect between this current team and the fans. To be perfectly honest with you, I can’t stand the players on this team. It doesn’t seem that any of them truly want to be associated with the city of Buffalo and from what I can see, there are too many ME players in this group. My favorite team in Buffalo sports history was that ’99 Sabres team that left their hearts on the ice EVERY SINGLE night. This 2015 Bills team, ugh, there is no identity and no unity whatsoever.
Rex Ryan could very well be the worst possible choice for these types of players. Clearly he has not instilled any discipline as they continue to commit idiotic penalties at a record setting pace. For the first time in many years, I felt absolutely nothing after they lost on Sunday. You want to know what the opposite of love is…..apathy. That’s right, as this organization slips back into total anonymity, Russ Brandon and his boys will try and figure out how to spin next season into one of promise and high hopes. How in the world can an organization be so inept for so many years in a row? What they need is someone who can come in and CLEAN HOUSE. The stench needs to be removed once and for all, so go out there and find a football czar. Let the beliefs of that one person flow through the veins of the entire club . Once hired, that person finds a GM who finds a coach with the same philosophy. When all of that is accomplished, the players who buy into that belief will then be able to flourish.
This team is not known to be good at any one thing. They have an ok running game, one good receiver, a legit tight end who is not utilized enough, below average O line, an aging defense, 1st year QB and a coach who has no idea how to prepare his team. You know what that spells out… 6-7 with no sight of playoffs in the foreseeable future. This team is still in purgatory and I am willing to gut it in order to get back on track. I thank you Terry Pegula (more than you will ever know) for keeping this team in Buffalo, but the time is now to get a once proud franchise back on its feet again. Rex Ryan is NOT the answer and if you need any further proof of that, take a look at what his ex team in NY is doing right now. How is that going to feel when the Jets very well might come into Buffalo and use the Bills to springboard their way into the playoffs? There is one thing that should never be associated with the Buffalo Bills and their fans, and that’s apathy.
