The Martin Group (TMG) has purchased an architecturally stunning building in the Theatre District. The building is the former Levy, King & White (advertising agency) building, located at 620 Main Street. This was a surprising move for TMG, as the full-service advertising, branding and public relations firm purchased 477 Main Street back in 2008, before setting forth with serious renovations. Since that time, TMG has been undergoing a growth spurt, which has now led to its newest purchase of 620 Main Street.
“As we quickly outgrew our current space and the search began for a new office location, there was no doubt in my mind we would keep the agency headquartered in downtown Buffalo,” said Tod Martin, TMG’s president and founder. “This is an exciting time in the redevelopment of our city, and it makes sense that we remain on Main Street at the forefront of Buffalo’s resurging urban core. In our industry, an innovative, collaborative workspace is essential. To foster the type of creative work environment we believe in, all of our practice areas should be under one roof.”
Once fully operation in its new 18,000 square-foot space building, Martin plans on putting 477 Main Street up for lease. The move was made possible thanks to TMG’s recent purchase of Travers Collins & Company (integrated marketing communications), along with the acquisition of AMDG Public Affairs, a strategic move that has led to the formation of Martin Davison Public Relations.
“When I started my career in Buffalo, Levy, King & White was the premiere agency in town, and I always admired their building and what it stood for being in the heart of the City,” said Martin. “To our team here at The Martin Group, this is going to be a pretty symbolic move we can take great pride in.”
