If you’re looking for a Christmas tree, chances are that you’re not looking in the city. There are few and far between places that cater to the tree buying crowd. That’s why the Elmwood Village Association (EVA) decided that it would be a good idea to team up with Matt Dore of Buffalo Horticulture, who designed the EVA Bidwell Triangle Garden.
Yes, you could go to Home Depot I suppose – a big box supplier of everything under the sun. But where is your money going, and how was the experience at the end of the day?
Instead of doing the same old thing, the EVA and Buffalo Horticulture decided that it was time to offer a home grown, grassroots X-mas tree buying experience to city dwellers – one that would reflect the traditions of tree hunting in the days of old – a sort of European Christmas market.
“We realized that for many years it was difficult, if not impossible, for Elmwood Village residents to purchase a Christmas tree in the ‘Village’,” said Barbara O’Brien, Chair, Beautification Committee
Elmwood Village Association. “There was definitely a void in the marketplace and, just like that, the EVergreen Holiday Bazaar was created!
“Matt is selling Christmas trees and seasonal greenery and, together with Resurgence Brewery, floral designer Ferncroft and patisserie ButterBlock selling their holiday treats, the Bazaar promises to be an exciting and special place to shop for your holiday provisions.”
