CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) are becoming more popular each and every year. But what about the other CSA? I’m talking about Community Supported Art, a newer form of buyer influenced resourcefulness. Instead of locally grown food, this new form of CSA deals with locally produced art.
CEPA Gallery came up with this brilliant art program for those who like to invest in artists, who then go out and create art for their pooled investors. It’s a sustainable symbiotic relationship that keeps the artists busy, and collectors’ floors and walls filled.
Is there an element of surprise? Yes. Is there an element of empowerment? Yes. Is there anything else like it? No.
On Thursday, November 5, CEPA Gallery will be unveiling the art shares at Big Orbit Gallery. At that time, guests will be able to mix and mingle with the artists, view the artwork, learn about this ingenious CSA program, and maybe even sign up for future CSA shares.
SCA artists include Joel Brenden, Kyle Butler, Fotini Galanes, Megan Metté, Anne Muntges, Stacey Robinson, Marshall Scheuttle, and virocode.
