I am not sure what the Bills needed more, a bye week or playing the Miami Dolphins after the rest. Buffalo did exactly what they should have done yesterday, they beat a really bad team. It does not matter how they did it as long as they got that W to keep the season alive. When I saw the number of injured players that were returning to face Miami, I thought there was no way the Bills were going to lose this game at home. With a full stable of RBs and Sammy being unleashed, the offense did a tremendous job to make sure this game was never really in question.
There was a very positive mood in the parking lot before the game and Mother Nature provided another beautiful setting for the weekend warriors. This game was over the second Miami botched a snap and the Bills took 2 right off the bat. It was great to see the damage Karlos and LeSean could do while the offensive line made it very easy for them to wreak havoc on Miami’s D-line. The coaching on the Miami side was absolutely atrocious and did them no favors in trying to make it a game against Buffalo.
Up next is an above average team as the Bills will play the Jets on Thursday Night Football. Should the Bills win this one? I think it could go either way but Rex has GOT to get in Fitz’s face all day long. With the Patriots coming up after that, Buffalo can ill afford to fall below 500 again as I think we all know how that one is going to play out.
Looking back at last week, everything the Bills needed to happen in the win/loss column went their way. Yesterday, Pitt beat Oakland and lost Big Ben in the process. With the Jets winning, it makes this game on Thursday that much more important.
If Buffalo has a chance of playing meaningful games in December, they MUST beat the teams that are also competing for those Wild Card spots. The Bills still have not beaten a quality opponent but I believe taking the Jets down in their building would go a looong way in building some confidence in that locker-room.
Can Rex reel in his emotions and get his team to play a disciplined four quarters as he faces the team that fired him? With another 13 penalties committed yesterday, it doesn’t look like that issue is going away any time soon.
Keep this team healthy, cut down the amount flags and maybe, just maayyybe there is time to turn this season around. This defense is good, not great – so the offense needs to keep putting up at least 30 to handle those teams that are not the Miami Dolphins…
