2015 marks the fourth year that Buffalonians will be celebrating Buffalo’s bountiful and diverse stock of musical talents in Larkinville. Each and every Wednesday evening, starting June 17, Larkin Square will come alive with the sounds of talented local bands, mixed in with a few expat “Homecoming” performers who are lucky enough to join in on the fun.
This year, along with all of the usual pomp and circumstance, there is one unique twist (started in 2014) that will add to the overall zest of the music series. As the evening winds down, the musicians from the opening act are invited to come back up on stage to join the headlining band for a “collaborative encore”, which should bring the house down with some epic music mash-up moments.
“The community’s embrace of Larkinville began in 2012 with the inaugural season of Live at Larkin, which has grown into a festival-like party that’s fun for all ages,” said Larkin Square Director of Fun Leslie Zemsky. “We’re excited to celebrate another summer of fun in Buffalo!”
Along with the Live at Larkin line-up, boasting 35 bands and select theme nights, visitors to the district will also be treated to three “Lunchtime Live at Larkin” concerts. All of the concerts will feature food carts, hula hoops, and everything else that music lovers have come to expect from Live at Larkin hosts.
