For the second year in a row, the Buffalo Maritime Center will be hosting a boat festival at Canalside that will showcase a variety of this region’s beautiful “woodies”. These are some of the most sought after wooden boats that were crafted and engineered in a bygone era when boats were as much works of art as they were functional modes of transportation.
If you’ve never seen a classic wooden runabout up close, then this is a splendid chance to not only see the superior craftsmanship, but to also learn about the Golden Era of boating, when these boats were denizens of the fresh water systems.
Wooden Boat Rendezvous takes place at The Buffalo Harbor. Brought to the Inner Harbor by the Niagara Frontier Antique and Classic Boat Society and the Buffalo Maritime Center. Find updates on the society on Facebook.
