By now you may have noticed that there is a ‘dusting’ of snow on the ground. Which means that it’s the perfect time of year to go snowshoeing… but what if you don’t have snowshoes? And where are the best places to go snowshoeing? Those are questions best answered by Tifft Nature Preserve, right here in the city of Buffalo.
If you find yourself snowshoeless, as many of us do, then don’t worry because Tifft has plenty of snowshoes for both adults and children. For $5 (adult – wood shoes) and $3 (child – plastic shoes), you can be on your way to enjoying a beautiful snowy winter in Buffalo. The trails at Tifft are wonderful, and chances are that before long you will find yourself forgetting about your troubles as you peacefully wander the nature trails in search of bat clouds, beaver lodges and cold weather creatures.
In order to get started, just head on over to the Tifft Nature Preserve Center, where you will find all of the resources to get you started (snow must be at least 6″ deep). Call ahead for rental availability.
